Kids and Youth Yoga Teacher Training

Kids yoga incorporates a balance between spontaneity and structure ,children can listen to each other as well they can express themselves in a creative way , kids learn better when they are playing and enjoying , doing yoga with your children is a great way to nurture them and spend valuable time together as a family

Traditionally in India , a proper yoga routine is introduced to a child in his eight year , as this is seen as the beginning of Puberty. Also , at this age the air sacs, or alveoli, in the lungs are fully developed for the breathing exercises , and the child has gained the ability to conceptualise . During our training program we will be including as well practices for under 8 , we will be having special sessions on yoga for baby and mother ( including shantala massage ) toddlers yoga, preschool and kinder practices but with a fun element on it, including circles , guided play and games . Using playful techniques  is a powerful form of teaching which has been used in all cultures around the world. Yoga encourage both parents and kids to become gentle and kind.

Through the yoga Sadhana we will connect with our inner child and we will be learning how to integrate principles of yoga in the classes with kids , we include in our kids yoga teacher training course :

Daily schedule

8:00 am to 9:30 am Age group daily practice
9:30- 10:30 am Break
10:30 - 12:00 pm Anatomy, physiology babies, kids and teens
12:00. - 2:00 pm Break lunch
2:00 pm to 2:45 pm Philosophy principles and chanting
2:45 pm to 3:30 Teaching methodology
3:30 pm to 4:15 pm Practicum

 Some sessions can be longer depending on the topic of the class . non contact hours will be given  to write assignment , prepare lessons and study for questionary  . The online livestream classes are 3 hrs daily per session with special interactive method between the participants 

After completing training graduates must also teach 30 hours of children’s yoga before they may register as Registered Children’s Yoga Teachers (RCYT®)s. These hours of children’s yoga must be taught after graduating from a RCYS.

What you would learn after completion of the course:

Incorporate in The yoga class songs, games ,circles , asanas, breathing and partner yoga, relaxation , sound, crafts , knitting and sensory tools allowing the children to learn in a multysensorial environment, visual, aural, inter and intrapersonal

You will learn how to Teach our children to Respect and honor Mother Earth, other cultures as kids in a yoga class will be making  magical trips thorough the world , learning about different cultures and the ecological environment through yoga practice  doing journeys which can be about the animal kingdom , helping them to cultivated respect for the world in their hearts , children as well learn about the habit of the animals , those in way of extinction  how to protect the environment as well they will learn how to share with each other without competition and with a kind understanding 

General Background In The Specialty Area:

Includes the study and understanding of all childhood developmental stages from age 0-15 and how the issues of each stage impact what is appropriate for teaching them. the specifics of appropriate developmental application for each age group. Also includes the understanding of the yoga teacher’s relationships with parents/guardians and developmental specialists and basic communication skills for conducting those relationships.

Teaching Methodology:

Includes knowledge of classroom techniques, lesson plans and group processing for children’s activities. Age-appropriate teaching skills for yoga class techniques (including how to phrase age-appropriate questions to a child) and effective communication skills (such as songs and stories) for working with children.

Anatomy And Physiology:

Anatomy and physiology related specifically to changes during child development and their application to yoga techniques. Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc). Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.).

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle And Ethics For Children’s Yoga Teachers:

Includes basic yoga precepts as they relate to children and to teaching yoga to children (e.g., the Yamas and Niyamas). Awareness of ethical behavior and state and local legal requirements as related to behavior with and supervision of children. Specific training in parameters and techniques of ethical touch with regard to teaching children. Basics of ethical language and behavior, both when parents or guardians are present and when they are not

Practicum:

These hours must be spent observing another teacher lead a children’s yoga class. teaching a children’s yoga class as a lead teacher   Elective hours to be distributed among the educational categories according to the school’s chosen emphasis (may be Contact or Non-Contact Hours).  

Requirements and note for the Course:

-1 level 200 Hours YTTC is a Requirement Course for the registration with the Yoga Alliance . For the students who have not completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Training, or registered with YA, you will receive a graduation certificate from KSSOY upon completion of this training, but you will not be able to register with Yoga Alliance as a Children Yoga teacher however you will be certified by the school independently
